Trial Mods are new recruits who are in a probationary period to demonstrate their suitability for the moderation team. They help enforce the rules while learning the server’s specific processes and commands.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Be active on the Sapling.gg server and Discord.
Basic understanding of server rules and player commands.
Willingness to report any major infractions to senior staff.
Responsibilities:
Monitor chat for inappropriate behaviour, offensive language, or harassment.
Assist players by answering common gameplay questions and server rules.
Use basic moderation tools like muting or kicking players with prior approval.
Report major incidents to Mods or Admins.
Document actions taken in staff logs for future reference.
Mods are the first line of defense against rule breakers and ensure the community remains welcoming and orderly. They are capable of taking swift action when necessary and support both players and Trial Mods.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Been Trial Mod for up-to 2 weeks.
Active involvement in staff discussions.
Solid knowledge of server rules, commands, and gameplay mechanics.
Responsibilities:
Investigate situations and minor rule violations, taking appropriate action (warnings, tempmutes, or tempbans).
Assist Trial Mods by reviewing their actions and offering feedback.
Moderate chat and player interactions, escalating serious violations to Admins.
Assist with server events or community activities, ensuring a smooth experience.
Review player complaints and help resolve disputes among players.
Admins are experienced staff members with greater authority and responsibility. They manage more complex issues and maintain the server's overall health and community standards.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Prior experience as a Moderator for at least 4 weeks.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
Deep understanding of server rules, plugins, and commands.
Active involvement in staff meetings and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Handle major incidents such as hacking, exploitation, or severe harassment.
Issue permanent bans for serious infractions with proper documentation.
Review Moderator actions and provide feedback or additional training.
Manage server settings, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth operation.
Mediate complex disputes between players or staff.
Organize and oversee major server events, making sure they run smoothly.
Keep communication open between staff and the player base by addressing feedback or suggestions.
Senior Admins are the highest non-Management staff members, with the most experience and trust within the moderation team. They lead by example, handling the most complex issues and assisting other staff in their duties.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Served as an Admin for at least 2 months.
Extensive knowledge of server systems, rules, and all commands.
Proven ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts within the team.
Ability to make high-level decisions with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the performance of all Admins and Moderators.
Make final decisions on serious disputes or rule changes.
Ensure server stability, working directly with Development to address technical issues.
Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff members.
Lead major community initiatives, such as server expansions or new feature rollouts.
Maintain detailed records of server bans and major incidents.
Work closely with Management to ensure alignment between staff goals and server direction.
The Development team is responsible for the technical aspects of the server, including creating and maintaining the servers features.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Knowledge with the Spigot/Paper software, plugin management, or game-specific development.
Previous experience in game development or server management is a plus.
Willingness to collaborate with Admins and Management on project goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and update server plugins, features, and mechanics.
Troubleshoot technical issues affecting server performance or player experience.
Collaborate with Senior Admins and Management to roll out new gameplay features or fixes.
Monitor the server’s performance and implement optimizations as needed.
Regularly communicate with staff about ongoing development projects and timelines.
Test and debug new features before they are implemented for public use.
Management oversees the entire server staff, ensuring that all roles function cohesively. They make the final decisions on server policy, direction, and major staff changes.
Requirements:
Must be 15+.
Extensive experience as a Senior Admin or Developer.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to maintain a clear vision for the server's future and lead long-term projects.
Involvement in all aspects of server management, including moderation, development, and community engagement.
Responsibilities:
Lead the overall vision and direction of the server and community.
Make high-level decisions regarding staff structure, server features, and community rules.
Manage the recruitment, promotion, and discipline of staff members.
Collaborate with Development and Senior Admins on major server updates or changes.
Organize and plan large-scale server events, collaborations, or partnerships.
Address major player concerns, feedback, or disputes that require Management’s attention.
Ensure the server remains profitable, stable, and appealing to the player base.
Represent the server in external partnerships, sponsorships, or public communications.
Titles:
Community Manager: Ensures player engagement and fosters a positive community environment.
Staff Manager: Oversees recruitment, training, and coordination of all staff members.
Marketing Manager: Develops and executes strategies to attract and retain players through promotions and campaigns.
Network Manager: Leads the technical team, managing server features, updates, and stability.
Social Media Manager: Manages the server’s social media presence and engages with the community through content.
Executive: Provides the overall vision, direction, and financial oversight of the server.
